Flat Residential Roof Systems

Modified Roofing Systems (Torch-on Roofing)

This type of roofing system uses modified bitumen membranes, these rolls are manufactured and have polymeric or rubberized asphalt thoroughly coated on one side of them. Modified roofing systems can be installed in two different ways; by using a propane heat torch to heat the coated side of the product, or by mopping hot asphalt on to create adhesion between the product and roof.

Built-up Roofing Systems

Built-up roofing systems, also known as "tar and gravel roofs", have been used for over 150 years. This roofing system consists of alternating layers of reinforcing fabrics and bitumen along with continuous mopping of hot asphalt.

EDPM Roofing Systems

EDPM or ethylene propylene diene monomer roofing systems are a single-ply system, and are made of a manufactured fabricated rubber membrane, which come available in different thicknesses. EDPM systems can be installed in a variety of ways, these include; fully adhered, loose-laid and ballasted, and mechanically attached means.

Thermoplastic Roof Systems

TPO roofing systems share a lot of the same qualities EDPM systems have. The main difference in the two is the materials that make the product up. Thermoplastic roofing systems are a synthetic single-ply membrane made of PVC and TPO. Thermoplastic membranes are available in a variety of thicknesses and colours.
